Just like textedit, I believe we should be able to have instant spell correction embedded into the text area. For example, If I want to write a portion of my note in Portuguese I should be able to select that area and tell spell check/grammar to change the language to my desired Portuguese language and then it will detect if words are correctly spelt.

Findings includes the system-wide spelling and grammar, which you can access and enable using the menu Edit. It should be the same as TextEdit, but let me know if it does not meet your needs.
