As my work progresses, I find that I have some protocols that are no longer applicable to my current work. I don’t want to delete them, but it would be nice to be able to set them aside for later reference if needed. I wonder if it might be possible to create a method for archiving protocols that are no longer actively used?
I’m not sure how this would best be implemented, but I can imagine something similar to Status for Entries being useful, with Protocol Status levels like “Draft”, “Active”, “Archived” (and perhaps others like “Deprecated”, “In Review”, etc.), and could be selected via a contextual menu when right-clicking on the protocol in the list, and/or with a GUI button, similar to the status button next to the “rating” star icon at the top of the experiment editor.
